January 2022. An update.

First off, welcome to the new year.

You have probably heard that a lot already, and each time might have made you cringe because the past few years haven’t been that great, life-wise. We’ll see if life says on the blocks, or if something will change.

What’s happening in the world of books?

A Girl Named Sandy

I’m slowly working on the sequel to “A girl named Sandy“. The second sequel, in fact. I once gave it a try, but that story didn’t go well so I scrapped that.

Now, after some time of cooling down, I have picked up the challenge once more. So far the story is unfolding along the lines I have in mind, which is a good thing. Let’s hope this time it’s going to work out.

Spoiler alert: they are reaching a new planet!

Then there is the 26th volume in the Hilda series.

Twenty-six… And people still aren’t fed up with the witch and her family. That’s impressive, to say the least. When I wrote the first story about the Wicked Witch, I had no idea it would get to this.

I hope that this new book is going to make a lot of people happy once it’s done. I’m currently writing the seventh chapter, so it will take a while before the final version sees the light, but it’s going to happen. Something exciting (or at least unexpected) is going to happen, and a prince called Darius Perspilex plays a part in it.

That’s the update, so far.

I hope the new year is treating you well, so far.

As the year draws nearer to the end…

Yes, dear reader,

2017. Fare thee well.

There’s no escape. 2017 is almost behind us. Just today, tonight, and tomorrow. Then it’s done. Wrapped up.

Did this year bring you good things? Things you hoped for? I can only hope so. My year was lots of things.

Entertaining. I started a new job this year. So far so good, we’ll see what the future brings.

Writing. Several new books came out this year, something I’m always proud of. Writing is one thing for a writer. Getting the book all ready and out into the world is different beast. So far I feel I’m on the right track. There are several books in the pipeline as I type this, including a very interesting SciFi story that I’m so far calling Story X. Simply because I have no clue what the title will be.

Right, I’m not going to make this a mile-long post about everything that happened and should have happened and didn’t happen and such. I’ll simply wish you a great end of this year and a fabulous start of the new year. May that bring you good things and beautiful books. 🙂

Happy New Year!

Dear reader,

Some may consider this a bit odd as New Year is behind us already. I don’t care. As long as it’s happy I’m all in favour of wishing you every good thing.

First of all of course I hope everyone entered this new year, 2017, with good health. If you’re suffering from anything, may this year bring you healing and comfort.

Next of all I am pleased to say that the work on Hilda 19 is going well. I’m slowly working my way backwards through the text (I agree, a strange way to read it but it’s worth the while for me) so it should be ready for publication “soon”. In this case that will take another month, maybe two, but with too many things in the non-book-world there is only so much time I can spend on writing and other fun stuff.

Even nexter (yes, I make those words up as I go along and need them), the work on the sequel to “Wanted: hero” is coming along well also. I’m over half the chapters in the first rework so readers in need of a good, new science fiction and a renewed meeting with Sabas and Reny are in for something special. I could of course tell a lot about it but I won’t. I’m evil like that. I learnt that from the best, and her name is Hilda.

That’s all for now as there isn’t much more worthwhile to tell.

All the best…

Happy new year. 2016 is here.

Dear reader,

By most of the world has slipped into the new year. 2016. Most of it? Yes, some Arabic countries follow a different one. They had new year a few months ago; in our October of last year they went from 1436 to 1437. See, you learnt something new already this new year! It’s that easy.

BooksHave you been good and read many books? I only want to hear yes‘s to this of course, so I’ll block my ears for the nay-sayers who have their chance now.

And stop. Nay-sayer-time’s up.

Thank you for reading many books. Not only is this a thank you on my behalf, but on behalf of all the Indie writers, editors, formatters and cover designers who are working hard to deliver many pages of quality entertainment to you, day after week.

I’m looking forward to a new year of books. Books I have yet to read, and some books that I very much want to read again, just because they’re amazing. And books I have yet to write, edit, and publish. Hilda 17 is the next one on the conveyor belt to come out, I think. Might take a while, but it’s coming. On Twitter I already made a comment about the title. The title for Hilda’s 17th book will be “Wytches Roone”. Now if that doesn’t sound the same, you’re pronouncing it incorrectly. Trust me on this. There’s also a lot ado about a new Dutch book, which is getting some attention on my Dutch website, and the latest idea I got (last year, on December 31st in the morning actually) is the final push for a new story about Lily Marin, our Masked Woman.

May you all have a wonderful, happy, healthy, Bosporus – I mean prosperous – and great New Year. May the books be with you.
